Kombucha History and How-To

Kombucha, the magical drink that is loved by millions but understood by so few. The idea of brewing your own may seem mystifying and difficult for many. Fortunately, Angela Santiago is going to take you on a journey of understanding and practical application that will lead you to the wonderful world of kombucha making!
She will be covering the origin and uniqueness of kombucha, the actual science of the fermentation process and the antimicrobial action that creates the symbiotic colony we call the “Scoby”, the chemical components, vitamins, and enzymes yielded.
Angela will also be discussing the health benefits of drinking Kombucha as well as teaching you what precautions you need to take to make sure you are brewing safely at home.
There will be SCOBYs and kombucha available to purchase so you will be all set to start your own!
Angela Santiago studied psychology at NYU, and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from USF. She received her YTT200 from the Adiaya Yoga Sanctuary and has been teaching yoga for 10 years, practicing for about 25. She has been make kombucha for 75% of her private students for about 3 years to ensure their overall wellness and well-being.
